Annual Highlights · January 2026

Sun Siyam Olhuveli Closes 2025 with Purpose-Driven Initiatives.

Olhuveli marked the transition into the new year with coral planting, biofarm tours, and the launch of its 2025 sustainability ledger — a transparent record of every measurable commitment closed and every one carried forward into 2026.

The 2025 ledger is published in full as part of Olhuveli’s contribution to the Sun Siyam Cares Annual Sustainability Report. The headlines: 1,840 coral fragments planted (target 1,500), 38% of resort energy from solar (target 35%), 100% elimination of single-use plastics across guest-facing operations (target 100%), and 87% of guests engaged in at least one sustainability experience during their stay.

Three commitments did not close. Wastewater recovery hit 71% versus a target of 80% — the desalination retrofit is now scheduled for Q2 2026. Local food sourcing reached 42% versus 50%; mango and papaya yields fell short due to weather. And guest travel offsets covered 64% of arrivals versus a target of 75%, an outcome the team is treating as an honest reflection of the limits of voluntary offsetting.

Carried forward into 2026: a 60% renewable target, the launch of an island-wide food-waste digester, and the formalisation of the CarePhant programme as a Sun Siyam Group commitment rather than a single-resort initiative. The full ledger is published quarterly so commitments can be tracked publicly rather than annually in the rear-view mirror.
